This series was founded in 1987 by Christopher Windass, a violinist with many of the country’s ensembles, chamber and symphony orchestras, as well as having a lifelong passion for chamber music.
The series takes place in the glorious setting of Adderbury Parish Church. This stunning venue has played host to concerts featuring many of the country’s most brilliant musicians and chamber ensembles.
There have been over 100 concerts given in the church as part
of Music in Adderbury. Some well-known musicians who have
taken part include:
Christopher Warren-Green, Robert Cohen, Bradley Creswick,
Andrew Manze, Nigel North, Emily Beynon, Jane Atkins, Sian
Edwards, Jonathan Kelly, Carolyn Sampson, Andrew Haveron.
The highly acclaimed Adderbury Ensemble was formed in 1987
and has given many concerts in the series. It draws its members
from all over the country. The players hold principal positions in
other major British orchestras.
Concerts are held on Sundays at 7.45pm.
